aluminum cold forging by establishing integrated production systems for mold design/fabrication and product manufacturing.

History
September, 1970 Komatsu Factory was founded as a non-ferrous metallic material cutting/processing company in Okaya City. |
November, 1972 Komatsu Industries Ltd. was established with the capital of 3 million yen. |
March, 1973 Started aluminum cold forging, introduced a 400-ton forging machine. |
March, 1977 Increased capital up to 20 million yen. Developed cold forging technology for zinc and stainless steel. |
April, 1984 Introduced a special long-stroke forging machine (hydraulic, length: 700 m, weight: 600 tons) |
May, 1984 Constructed a new factory in Shimosuwa Industrial Complex. |
September, 1989 Increased capital up to 50 million yen. |
February, 1990 Changed to a publicly listed stock corporation and changed the corporate name to Komatsu Industries Co.Ltd. |
August, 1990 Increased capital up to 80 million yen. |
December, 1992 Introduced a 1,000-ton forging machine, developed and mass-produced airbag parts for automobiles. |
December, 1993 Increased the capacity of aluminum heat treatment (T4/T6/annealing treatment) for covering all products. |
May, 1999 Introduced a machine and peripheral equipment for fabricating steel cylinders used in shock absorbers of motorcycles. |
December, 2001 Obtained the current site and buildings and started a remodeling project. |
May, 2002 Moved the head office and factory entirely to the new site and started operation. |
September, 2002 Filed for bankruptcy protection from creditors under the Civil Rehabilitation Law at the Ina Branch of Nagano District Court. |
June, 2003 Takehiko Komatsu, CEO, resigned and Eiji Komatsu assumed the post. |
July, 2003 Received a court decision under the Civil Rehabilitation Law from the district court branch. |
July, 2005 Obtained ISO-9001 certification (2000 version). |
April, 2006 Received a prime cost award from GAC Corporation. |

March, 2008 DENSO Corporation started to acknowledge us as a recommended supplier. |

May, 2009 Established Komatsu Precision Products (Hong Kong) Co.Ltd (Joint venture between three Japanese companies) Obtained DENSO environmental management system (EMS) certification. |
